Current Campaigns
Release uses the expertise and knowledge it has gained from over 40 years of working with drug users, their families, professionals and colleagues working in the drug sector to lobby for changes to UK drug policy.
Much of UK legislation on drugs has emerged as a result of historical events, international treaties and cultural norms, and often does not represent the most expedient method of managing drug use in our society. The criminal justice approach to drugs has spawned generations of people isolated from mainstream society, as a result of incarceration, issue avoidance or due to the stigma attached to drug use.
Our current campaigns are chosen to address some of the worst aspects of this drug strategy.
