Better drug laws - Take Action

Thank you for supporting Release's campaign 'Drugs – It's Time for Better Laws'. Now you can get more involved by taking action. Over the coming weeks we will ask you to write to a series of emails to try and ensure they are as informed as they can be about drug policy. At the moment we are asking people to send a copy of the new International Drug Policy Consortium (IDPC) Drug Policy Guide to their MP.

Release was a founder member of IDPC, a global network of 86 NGOs campaigning for drug policy reform. The guide is an excellent source of basic information about core drug policy issues, that will hope ensure your MP is able to make informed decisions about the UK’s drug policy.

Thanks for taking the time to support the campaign.

Enter your details below, and lookup your MP to send them your message.

Dear [MP's name],

I am concerned at the continued failure of the UK’s drug policy to protect communities and the lack of willingness of politicians to support the changes that will limit the harm that currently inflicts so much damage on so many.

Please find attached a copy of the International Drug Policy Consortium Drug Policy Guide. I would like to hear your views on potential steps towards reform of our antiquated and failing system of drug control. More importantly I would like to hear that you are prepared to support the decriminalisation of drug possession. The evidence clearly shows the current system doesn’t control drug use and victimises the young, the black and the poor.

If you would like to add a personal message to the email, please enter it below:
