DMT - BUSINESSMAN'S LUNCH

what is it?

DMT is a powerful hallucinogen originally sourced from the seeds of the yopo tree, but now produced synthetically as dimethyltryptamine. It is one of a group of drugs known as short-acting tryptamines.

what does it look like?

DMT comes in the form of crystals or oil.

how is it used?

DMT may be injected, but is more often smoked in a joint or pipe, often (though not always) mixed with marijuana. It should be noted however that DMT is much more powerful than marijuana, provoking an intense experience.

DMT is not effective when taken orally.

what are the effects?

DMT kicks in very quickly, increasing both heart rate and blood pressure dramatically. The ëtripí is likely to be intense and to last for 10-30 minutes. DMT also causes pupil dilation, increased pulse rate and blood pressure and sometimes dizziness, nausea or tremor.

Tolerance to DMT builds almost immediately. This means that if the desired experience is not achieved immediately, users must wait an hour or so before trying again. Taking more of the drug immediately will not produce a more extreme effect.

what are the dangers?

Those with high blood pressure should avoid DMT.

DMT is a potent drug. The suddenness and intensity of its effects can be alarming. Users should ensure that they are feeling mentally strong and happy and that they are in a safe environment, free from unexpected interruption, before taking the
drug. It is advisable for a friend to be around who could look after the user if things went wrong (bad trip).

is it addictive?

DMT is not physically addictive. Psychological dependence (when you feel that you cannot do without something) is unlikely to occur.

what is the legal position?

DMT is a Class A drug.

It is illegal to possess, supply or produce DMT.

It is illegal for occupiers of premises, or anyone concerned in the management of premises, to allow those premises to be used for production or supply of DMT.

Being unfit to drive under the influence of any intoxicant, including DMT, is an offence, which is likely to lead to the loss of your driving licence. Getting your licence back and obtaining insurance after losing it are likely to be difficult.

Sentences, especially for supply (including giving or selling to friends), can be heavy. Possession of even a small number of tablets can lead to a charge for intent to supply. Sentences for drug offences depend upon the quantities involved, previous convictions and other relevant circumstances.
