Trustees

Toby Faber - Toby has been an investment banker, management consultant and publisher. Toby remains a non-executive director of the firm founded by his grandfather, Faber and Faber, but now concentrates on his own writing - he became a Release trustee in December 2004.

Dr Christine Ford - Dr Chris Ford has been a GP in North West London for 20 years and has special interests in working with people who use drugs and/or alcohol. She has published widely about the care of people who use drugs in general practice and joined the Release board in November 2006.

James Hardy - James is a partner at Rosenablatts solicitors and joined the Release board in July 2006.

Ronnie Hooberman - Ronnie is a partner at Mishcon de Reya and joined the Release board in October 2006.

Anthony Hyams - Anthony is a Certified Accountant and Licensed Insolvency Practitioner in public practice and is a director of a non-quoted plc operating in the archiving and document storage sector ñ he joined the Release board in March 2005.

Andrew MacDonald - Andrew was Senior Foreign Editor of Channel 4 News until 2004. He has 20 years' experience in news and current affairs journalism, and has worked for independent producers and the BBC, as well as for ITN and became a trustee of Release in December 2004.

Sam Palmer - Sam started his career as a lawyer with a particular interest in human rights. He has since moved into the fundraising field, and currently works for The Prince's Trust. Sam joined the Release Board in May 2006.

John Podmore (Chair) - Formerly the governor of Brixton Prison, John is now overseeing the development of an innovative new transitional facility for offenders. John joined the Release Board in February 2006.
