Sebastian Saville - Director

Sebastian has been Director at Release since July 2003.

He has worked on the development of some of the more innovative services in the drugs field over the last 12 years, including spells at Turning Point and the Stapleford Trust.

While at the Stapleford in 2001 - 2003 he played a key role in developing contracts with the prison service for the provision of modern and humane detoxification services within the High Security Directorate.

At Turning Point, Sebastian was largely responsible for the Junction Project, which, in 1997 became the first voluntary sector provider to take over a statutory prescribing service.

Working closely with the media industry, Sebastian has overseen the production of groundbreaking drug information films that have since been distributed worldwide. He subsequently became involved in web design and other forms of drug related information delivery mechanisms.

Sebastian has accompanied Ministerial delegations abroad as an authority on harm reduction and has presented at conferences all over the world. He is a member of the Expert Witness Institute, a non-executive director of the Alliance and is on the NTA Expert Prescribing Committee.
