Nice people campaign inspires protest at Bath rugby club
Inspired by the Nice People Take Drugs slogan, campaigning organisation West Country Respect organised a protest at Bath Rugby club on the weekend to demonstrate against the Club's recent treatment of its players.
Objecting to invasion of their privacy and following the high profile story earlier this year of Matt Stevens, who was suspended by Bath and withdrawn from the England squad after admitting to cocaine use, a number of resignations by other players refusing to undergo drug tests have taken place.
Mat Southwell, Respect’s spokesperson said: ‘It’s wrong to equate drugs like cocaine or cannabis with performance enhancing drugs. We don’t support Bath Rugby’s decision to hound good quality rugby players away from our team for taking drugs.'
